Around the World Matchbox Labels - Hello Traveler!
Until the advent of automatic stoves and cigarette lighters, matches were a frequent part of everyday life. Given that the contents were the same manufacturers had to distinguish their product through packaging.

Thus an explosion of graphic design was born. The matchbox became an advertising medium and all manner of items were promoted on the little boxes. This collection of 20 labels features artwork from various European, Asian and American companies. The 20 labels each measure approx. 3 3/4 x 4.
